How to raise liquidity for a new token?

Say if I provide 1000 of my new token and 1 Eth to create a uni/sushi swap pool. The new token doesnt have any value or utilities yet, Wouldnt other people who also have my new token immediately drain the pool to swap for Eth?

How do people normally raise liquidity for a new token launch? What is the benefits of being first to create a pool?
