If you think crypto is your only hope you are already in danger
I think one can make the argument that many (if not most) people on this sub and other crypto spaces are throwing their lot with cryptocurrencies because they have reached a critical point in their lives.
Some people here hate their jobs, some don't but still make too little money there and really need a side gig, others are unemployed and cannot find anything decent, others still have debts to get rid of or a financial emergency they have to make up for.
Moreover, many people feel things are getting bad and are trying to shoot their shot at getting rich before it's too late.
And it is all very relatable and understandable.
The problem is that the more critical your situation, the higher your risk of getting scammed or falling for some project that ends up not delivering, with potentially tragic consequences.
I think that's one of the reasons why you hear that patronizing stuff about poor people being bad at managing their money: yes, rich people are a bit savvier (or can afford to hire savvy consultants), and even if some investment goes south, they still have tons of money… but they are also much less desperate than poorer investors.
Desperation is easy to listen to, but it can give very questionable advice.
If you are feeling that crypto is your last resort, be careful, DYOR, and stay away from things that look too good to be true, because they probably are.
Most importantly, try and seek other potential sources of income: see if there is some stuff you can make and sell, open a photography blog or a cuisine one, upload videos on YouTube… hell, unironically consider an OnlyFans if you have the looks and you are comfortable with it.
This is not meant to be financial or life advice, it's just a warning – don't let crypto rule your life, don't treat it as the Holy Grail which will save you from your woes, and be wary of anybody who tries to tell you otherwise.
As we venture into 2022, many bubbles could pop, and many people are expecting some kind of crash, and we don't want it to catch us by surprise, right
Be careful, be safe.
