Buy the coins you want on DEXs, not on centralized exchanges!

This is the most important thing I have learned from crypto so far! Buy the coins you want on DEXs, not on centralized exchanges!
Centralized exchanges are great for trading fiat money into stablecoins and coins for paying ecosystem fees. But if you want to understand what crypto really is, then you have to put your coins on a wallet and enter the unknown and somehow 'creepy' world of DEXs and thus crypto!
This step for me was a bit frightening. Knowing DEXs for the first time was for me like my first time on the darkweb. Scary but full of opportunities! This is for me the real world of crypto… and this is freaking awesome!
It is actually not so hard to enter this brand new world. Here the different steps i followed. I would advise you to search the internet to find a much more detailed description of the steps below. It is just to show you that in fact entering the real world of crypto isn't difficult at all:
- Buy stable coins with fiat on centralized exchanges (there are 100s; choose the one that fits you best, i.e., coinbase, FTX, Binance, Crypto, etc…).
- Buy coins for paying trading fees in the ecosystems of your choice (if you want a coin on the Ethereum ecosystem buy som $ETH; if you want a coin on the binance ecosystem then buy some $BNB; if you want a coin on the Solana ecosystem then buy som $SOL; same for fantom ecosystem ($FTM), dot ecosystem ($DOT), etc).
- Withdraw your coins on a wallet (choose the one that allows you to store the coins you want to store; Learn online how to withdraw you coins to your wallet (noramlly well explained directly by the centralized exchanges themselves, etc…). I would first try with a small amount of coins, not to lose everthing if there is a problem.
- Go on Dexs or coinmarketcap website and find your coin(s).
- Swap it and you will get it in your wallet. (Read some information about how this work before)
For sinking gas fees: there are bridges and wrapped tokens for example as explained in the link: https://cointelegraph.com/news/dexs-becoming-unusable-how-to-navigate-record-gas-fees-ahead-of-eth2
This is how I do. Of course for each step above there is a little bit of 'tuning' that you will easily find online. Hope it will work for you. Find some more information online. And first try with little amounts of money before making larger deals. Training makes the professional!
This is no financial advice. There are really well written articles on steps to follow on the internet. Find one and follow. But this my way to get out of centralized exchanges and get into the real world of crypto. How was your first time?
