Buy mining setup before halving or just buy Ravencoin

With just a couple weeks away from halving, I'm wondering if it would be better to buy $1500 of Ravencoin instead of a couple GPUs to start mining. The cost of GPUs so ridiculously high, I can't buy enough equipment to mine much at all. Wouldn't it make more sense to just buy Ravencoin now and startup mining a few months down the road?

Some people think that cost of GPUs will go down when nobody needing to buy GPUs to mine ETH.
