Spending Ravencoin when mining small amounts
I mine ravencoin on a RTX 2080 super, which came about as a fluke after buying a gaming system for Cyberpunk and then realizing most of the games lately are crap, so put my card to use making income until a good game finally comes out.
I only get $120 a month or so roughly, and one of the biggest issues I hit was actually spending the crypto. Usually after all the fees with conversion, transfer and etc… it just wasn't worth it, and a lot of the times I was literally left unable to spend it due to minimum amounts when it came to exchanges, which is usually around 120 raven, which is what, $12? Not too bad, but also not good when you are hungry, literally cash broke, and dominos has a deal for a $9.00 large pizza with 3 toppings after tax and you have $9.55 in your ravencoin wallet…. which has actually happened to me many times.. (real dominos price, you can get a large 3 topping carry out from dominos for $7.99, which ends up being $9.09 with tax..)
After a while, I had realized I could buy giftcards with crypto, and Litecoin was the cheapest to exchange. That still involved a lot of steps, and fees. However, I just recently learned the place I buy cards from, Coinsbee.com is now accepting Ravencoin directly, actually, think it happned a few months ago, but just learned about it today.. I prefer Coinsbee because the minimums are very low, a lot of cards have a $2 minimum and others a $5 minimum, with values in $1 increments., rather than set cards. letting you but something like a $7 cvs gift card. And also letting you get the $10 gift card for dominos to get that large pizza, without being forced to wait another day to mine up to the minimal amount to exchange, even though you have enough to but the pizza RIGHT NOW. Yes.. I know debit cards for crypto now exist… but if you don't want your info all over the place, and simply mine with t-rex or another miner to have raven directly sent to atomic wallet, or another simple wallet, rather then a large exchange, the debit card is useless. Now you can buy gift cards directly with ravencoin, no exchanging or swapping, no minimal fees. just the transfer fee and a pretty small fee from coinsbee, usually like 10 to 15 cents… on an whole card, not per dollar.
This isn't done on behalf of coinsbee or coingate, just a little tip/trick I found that lets me actually put my mining profit to use when mining with a single card. this has literally changed mining for me.I use my mining income now for random stuff from Amazon, Pizzas from dominos or Pappa Johns, and to grab little items from CVS. Being able to get a gift card instantly for small values like $6 at nearly any store I can think of has turned mining from a neat, but kind of useless side project into a very useful resource, especially with finances being a fudged up from the plague.
