Question About the Merge

I sorta understand it but I own ETH…do I need to do anything to it or does it all merge automatically when the time comes? Is there somewhere I should be storing it to maximize that optimization? Am I just sounding completely novice?

Edit: people trying to slide into my DM’s saying they’ll “help me” setup my wallet and conveniently sending me links while asking for screenshots of my QR codes can fuck off. I’m not stupid.
