Iam new to crypto

as I said Iam very new to crypto guys but I have some knowledge about and understand everything almost but I want to to long term investment.

So should I buy 100$ etherium and hold it for month and hope the price goes up and sell it. Is that good idea to buy it now or what special of the downfall or crash
