¿ETH vs ETH 2.0?

I’m no Expert in investing on Crypto but can someone explain to me what’s the Difference between the two please….

• When the 2.0 releases will the original ETH be gone?

• Been planning On investing a hefty chunk on ETH. Should I just wait for the 2.0 to be released instead of getting ETH now.?.?.
