What are the biggest issues that Ethereum faces?

I have recently entered the blockchain and Web 3.0 space and I think have a reasonable understanding of bitcoin and how it works from an economic point of view. I'm curious about ether and how it works and I'm looking for a balanced perspective. Could someone explain in simple English the pros and cons of ethereum and any potential issues with the project they need to be resolved? I would be grateful for the info!
