Noob question – ETH 2.0 and existing L2 solutions – Redundant?

As I understand, once ETH 2.0 is fully implemented, the transaction speeds on Ethereum network can scale to many thousands per second (compared to 15 tx/s today). Doesn't that make all L2 solutions on Ethereum that are so popular today redundant? I scalability is achieved on L1, what is the point of L2s?
