Hop exchange missing xDai

I decided I wanted to start learning about L2s and found a video about hop exchange. I followed this guys guide about sending matic for xdai on the matic network. So I did but now I don’t know where the xdai is. It shows a balance of zero on hop. I decided to add xdai to my MetaMask wallet afterwards but there is nothing there either. Maybe I have the wrong rpc or did I just fuck up by not having it added before hand?
