Any possibility of hard fork when move to eth2?

Sort of new to crypto and was wondering if a large enough number of eth miners prefer to keep mining eth with POW if the 2 could split sort of similar to eth and classic ??? Purely just a thought, no consideration to value , use, or acceptance of the “old” token, just wondering if it is a possibility.
