Generate an Ethereum address (offline, annonimously) just to send ETH to

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know a simple and safe way to create an Ethereum address to be able to receive ETH? Metamask wouldn't be a wise choice since it's somehow linked to a browser which can contain personal data. I guess that a Hardware wallet would work, but there must be a cheaper option equally safe in that regard. Does anyone know how?
