Jumping between Layer 2s

Do L2 Blockchains have a way of bridging from one to the other without having to go through the main ETH chain?

Is that a stupid question? Maybe you'd lose the inherited security of Ethereum by doing that?

I'm not asking if it's usable now I'm just trying to wrap my head around future scaling solutions.
