Why is everybody saying 3060Ti is best?

I'm thinking of the next card to buy and was doing some browsing on this sub and was surprised to see mostly 3060Ti suggestions.

My rig is currently 3x 3070Ti and 1x 3060Ti.

The 3070Tis all have ~40.5 MH, but the power on each to achieve that varies between 215 – 255 W (thanks silicon lottery). Taking the average, these cards are getting .17 MH/W.

My 3060Ti is at 28MH / 165W. That's also .17MH/W, so efficiency is the same.

I bought all the 3070Tis unopened off FB marketplace w/ average cost $900. It only took me 2 weeks of hunting, and this is also ballpark what you could expect to pay retail these days, maybe even less if you're lucky. Pro tip for you guys: find cards listed at $1000 that have been unsold for a few days. Generally you can negotiate down to the $900 range if you pick up same day and pay cash. Anyway, that's $22.22/MH.

The 3060Ti I picked up retail by a stroke of luck. $670 inc. tax, so almost $24/MH. You can probably find some for $600 range but they are harder to come across, and then there's the overhead of additional space, cables, and risers to reach the same total MH. I think 3070 and 3080 are clearly less cost effective at $/MH and comparably efficient so I will keep this out of the conversation, unless someone can share stats on this otherwise.
