What if the transaction fees don’t go down?

The demand for eth blockspace is increasing. So much traffic from NFTs, de-fi, token transfers, DAOs… all competing for limited resources. So what if the fees go even higher from now on and we're unable to transfer our smaller bags of tokens to L2s without spending half of it on transaction fees?
