Why is Ethereum so great? I want to explain this to people

Can anyone actually explain why Ethereum is so great? Why does it seem to be a cut above the rest? I want to understand myself and explain to others why Ethereum stands out amongst every other crypto. Ive been invested since $1900 but actually don't really understand why it's so strong. Is it the code? Can anyone not only explain what Ethereum does and where it gets its value from but why it differs from other crypto?
