Came across this article and seems to be an interesting read. Like DeFi, Web 3.0 champions self-custody, paves the way towards decentralization and allows users to monetize their data (unlike the case with prominent social media platforms). With that said, ETH would be the ideal L1 for Web 3.0 dApps
