0.16 – 0.19 ETH to deploy a new contract token? Is that correct?

I just spent the day learning how to build an ERC20 token. Enjoying the process. It's very basic and thought I'd put it on the Mainnet – but I was shocked to see it was going to cost 0.16 – 0.19 ETH to do so! $700-$900 USD seems so steep! Am I missing something here?
