Help to start mining

I have configured the batch files. I'm using kawpow miner and another thing called gminer and when I run the batch file it says miner.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command. Never mined any coins before but seems kinda cool. If anyone could help or point me in the right direction to get started I'd appreciate that alot
