Canadians, am I dumb to be buying ETH through Wealthsimple?

I'm a n00b, I get that I can still make gains on ETH value going up but the more I read, the more I feel I should be staking any ETH I buy, which Wealthsimple doesn't seem to allow me to do (I get that it's a simple exchange and not a full-fledged Crypto app). That said, could I transfer my ETH to another app (which one, guessing Binance?) Or do I need to sell, withdraw my funds and re-buy through an app that will allow me to stake my ETH?
