what are you really buying when you purchase an NFT?
So I have been reading some posts about what people see as NFTs.
Some people say they are simply: "intangible digital assets",
or "It doesn’t mean they truly possess that combination of ones and zeros any more than someone could have dibs on 2+2=4."
I would like a consensus of what a person is really buying when they buy an NFT.
For me, its the fact that you actually OWN PHYSICAL DIGITAL DATA, that is kept permanent, because of the redundancy of the blockchain. Because of the very fact that the blockchain is replicated over a vast network of computers, that exact "digital data" of 1's and 0's becomes PHYSICAL. its not intangible at all. That is one of the major values of the NFT. Once the image/movie/game/?? gets imbedded into the blockchain it gets stored there as 1's and 0's. it never changes, and its replicated across countless computers. So its a permanent physical object. it may be "magnetic" in nature, but none-the-less, its still there.
