I have a cousin who works at Rockstar Games – she mentioned to me that a new Ethereum Token is in the works for GTA6

Hey guys! Sorry, not sure where to post this but I really felt like I needed to share this!

My semi-distant cousin has been working for Rockstar Games for a few years now. She was over for a family gathering this past weekend and so we had a chance to sort of catch-up (I hadn't seen or talked to her for almost 3 years prior).

Anyways, long story short, I started talking about Rockstar Games and how cool it is that she works for them, and how excited I am about the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA6). I asked her if she knew anything about the game – i.e. where it would take place, who the main characters will be, how big the map is, etc. etc. – to which she responded "not a clue". Note: she is not working on the GTA6 project so I kind of expected that response from her.

Any who, to my surprise, she mentioned afterwards that some of her colleagues are indeed directly involved with the rather large (yet 'not large enough') dev team associated with GTA6, and so she has heard 'rumblings' of the subject matter..

One thing she told me that she has heard which really stuck out is the creation/development of a new Ethereum Token – which will be used primarily for GTA6, specifically in GTA6 online (i.e. something similar to 'moons' on the Cryptocurrency sub-reddit).

Essentially, the grand-vision will be to allow players the opportunity to earn these tokens/coins (which are hosted on the Ethereum blockchain) through online gameplay, by either successfully completing missions, or killing other players with an 'active vault', or through winning various gamemodes (i.e. team-death match, battle-royal (note: she mentioned a battle-royal gamemode has been brought up numerous times), free-for-all, etc. etc.).

These tokens can then be used in-game to make new purchases (weapons, vehicles, clothes, real-estate, etc.) and can also be sent and stored via providing an address in the blockchain. The goal would be to eventually stop-supplying tokens, once enough are in circulation (i.e. not an infinite supply).

I don't know about you guys, but all of this sounds very fascinating to me. Rockstar Games using the Ethereum blockchain in GTA6!? That would be amazing.. Ethereum truly is the most dynamic decentralized network on the planet..
