Purchase L2 ETH?

Hi all, is there any way I can purchase L2 ETH from an exchange or swap it from an ETH-like chain (BNB, MATIC, etc.)? I wanna mess around with L2 a bit but don't really want to pay $50 in fees to move a fraction of that. If anyone has any solutions I'd love to hear them
