Layer 2 solutions and user friendliness

Hey everyone,

I'm super excited about L2 solutions, I have been a Polygon user for a few months already and implemented an Optimism bridge myself during Scaling Ethereum ETHGlobal hackathon.

My concern is that for most users using Ethereum is complex enough, my non technical friends have a hard time understanding how to use Metamask and Dapps, now adding on top the complexity of bridges…

I think things should get easier over time and not more complex, but maybe we are not at that point yet, I understand this is about scalability and not usability.

Anyway, not a rant about Ethereum per se, I love it and use it everyday, but wanted to read your thoughts about this.
