The hustles of Wolves in Sheep’s clothing lurking amongst us. PSA on how to protect your precious ETH

I will make this relevant to ETH, just bear with me for a minute, please. Have you recently seen those heinous YouTube videos with the message, "Send us all of the ADA in your wallet, and for a limited time, we will double what you send us?" You know this one, right? I was reading on another sub that someone recently fell for this and sent 220,000 ADA, and they had the screenshots to prove it. Possibly this exists for ETH too. I wouldn't doubt it. If you have heard of these sad cases, you may catch yourself thinking, "I would never fall for that." These dubious crooks never donned sheep attire. They were wolves all along.

How to spot the phony sheep:

I recently read a post where a guy posted his sob story of how he wished he had more financial leeway to purchase crypto, and that he was finding it demotivating to read crypto subs because some investors had larger bags, and he didn't feel that his tiny portfolio, and yes he did give a number which was pretty low, would really help his life situation. He also had to give details of how he is a single dad working multiple jobs, raising several kids, and on and on. My initial thought was "Bro, you do you and don't worry about others." But at the same time as thinking that, I predicted what the response from other Redditors would be, but I wasn't expecting the generosity to go as far as it did.

The Mother Teresa's jumped in, several–maybe the majority of them. I don't know because I couldn't read past the first top posts which resulted in one guy who had his heartstrings pulled offer to throw the guy about $85 worth of crypto. A few posts later, another offer to help, and then another. At this point, I hit the back button in disgust.

Another example? Another poor soul states, "Somehow all of my ETH in my Metamask disappeared." And usually, they give all of the details of their hard, struggling lives. And what is the community response? I have seen this scenario play out too many times. The Mother Teresas of Reddit send generous amounts of crypto, and some Redditors even spearhead movements in the subs for others to jump on board, chip in, and large numbers do.

Actually, I have many more examples, but for brevity, I will cut this short.

It is your money, your coins, tokens, your work, so, yes, do what you want to do with your money. But it is my belief that many of these "sheep" work for the same dirtbags that run these flimflam operations. If you are a business owner, it only makes sense to diversify the ways you generate income.

If you are a generous person and want to help someone, buy a homeless guy a hoagie sandwich or give him a $10 Subway gift card. Donate used clothing. Buy a bottle of water for that vagrant holding the cardboard sign. You are your own judge.

Are some of these Reddit sob stories legit? Probably. Are any of them crafted by clever "wolves"? Most definitely.

And if I sound cynical, sorry, but this is my Internet persona. In real life, I don't walk past real people in need if there is a way that I can help. And, I do believe I will get crucified for posting this; however, I really am only here to help.
