Can I install HIVE OS by flashing it to a USB to a blank NVME SSD inside ?

So I don't have usb casing to connect my NVME to a computer to flash the Hive OS or windows OS on it.

So is it possible to flash Hive OS and windows OS on an USB and connect it to my rig which has the NVME SSD inside

Basically using the USB to install the OS to the NVME SSD ?

Is it possible Does it work that way ?
