What does it mean if my hashrate is the same but profit halves?

I am very new to mining, i've had a 3070 since last december and since I've really lost interest in gaming I should solo mine and learn about it. I'm using minerstat and kawpow which runs between 27-29 mh/s at 145watts and 99.6% efficiency. The projection for the last 24hrs had been i was mining just over $4.00 of rvn per 24hrs though a few hours ago that quickly dropped to below $2.00 in a matter of ten minutes. Does this have something to do with the difficulty of mining it? Or am I doing something wrong, is this what a profit switch is used to jump to another coin when another coin is at peak difficulty? I appreciate any feedback!
