Understanding Raven?

I've been trying to watch videos, and study up on Raven to gain more knowledge on the unlimited potentials of this coin.

I'm stumped, because nothing seems to break it down barney style for me.

I understand you can "create assets" but I'm not understanding the importance of the assets, or what exactly the asset does.

I want to learn as much as possible, I've checked YouTube, discords, different threads on here.

Is there anyone out there that can break it down barney style for me?
