Starting trouble

Newbie trying to get into the mining field. Where do I start? Overwhelmed with all those posts and YouTube videos. I see all those GPUs are out of stock. From where do people buy these? Can I start with 1 GPU or I need 5-6 of them? Any good and trustable links to start will be appreciated!
