New to crypto, Why don’t I have to verify a seed when running wallet core?

Ok, so new to crypto but have been mining with my gaming computer at night and getting my feet wet.

I have just been using nicehash up to now but thinking about getting some ravencoin.

I installed the core wallet but it doesn't present me with a seed, key or any other discernible way to save my keys in case of disaster. That scares me, I do not want to become one of the stories of lost crypto.

Why are these things hidden?

how do you get them?

What all do I need to recover if the computer was nuked?

While I see potential in ravencoin and have been wanting to get some for a few weeks this is enough for me to just ditch the whole idea as a newbie.

I like how electrum does it for bitcoin, you see the seed when you create a wallet and all you need to recover said wallet is that seed. Simple and direct.
