Thinking about building my first little rig. Very new to this, please advise..

Hey all, several months ago I decided to leave the corporate world and go back to school to become a firefighter/paramedic. As a result money is tight. Just thinking about doing a small basic rig to mine rvn and then add to it as time goes on. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
