Question About Some Ethereum Doubt

I have a high % of my portfolio in ETH and am very interested in the project. With that said, there are so many cheaper and faster projects out there.

I keep going back to wondering how dapp developers accept and deal with network congestion and fees? I get the idea of the network effect, but why won’t these dapps move to other projects where things are cheaper and faster? Is it really just not doing the work to move, trusting others won’t leave, and trusting that Ethereum 2.0 will be nearly as good as what others are building now?
