Ethereum is not a cryptocurrency, it’s a network

I know that name Ethereum has come to represent the cryptocurrency here and on many exchanges, but officially Ethereum is the technology that powers dApps and allows sending cryptocurrency. The native coin of the network is called ether. It's a small difference, but I think it's something people should know.
