Can Blockchain replace the traditional banking system in the future?

We’ve been seeing blockchain and cryptocurrency in general being integrated into various industries. While I know that it can’t replace cash (or at least not in the near future), there might be a chance that it can replace or collaborate with the traditional banking system. This article listed some blockchain solutions that have the potential on replacing the traditional banking system, but I haven’t found one that mentions putting blockchain and traditional banking together.
