Mining other coins then converting to RVN

This is probably a stupid question but I'm new to mining. If it's more profitable, (dollar value of ethereum) to mine ethereum but you want to have ravencoin, why wouldn't you just mine ethereum and exchange it for ravencoin after your payout?
