ETH Conversion Q

Question: I'm down 50% on a certain coin and really wanna convert it to ETH . I have been waiting for it to go back up but its been 3 months and have already converted the % i was in the green on , would it be dumb moving it over now regardless as the value would just be the same but now ETH or should i let it try and climb back up hoping ETH doesnt moon up as well creating the same issue? Opinions plz :'(
