Why does creating an asset cost 500 RVN? Is this fee going to be lowered?

If our goal is to expand the usage of RVN and thus increase it's value, 500 RVN seems a bit high to create new assets. Currently that's $30 for a .06 coin. If we want this to value to increase, what's the motivator for someone to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to create an asset to represent something they already physically own or possess? I am a believer running a node and have a lot of RVN but this is concerning. Hopefully there is a simple solution.
