lets talk ‘assets’

it's my understanding raven is a peer-to-peer platform for creating and transferring 'assets' from one party to another.

i also understand the definition of an asset- a tangible or intangible item of value held in one's possession or ownership.

but can someone help me understand, with respect to the raven (or any) blockchain, what 'assets' are, what makes them and asset, how they are created, how they are used, and what gives them value?

i guess what i'm asking is… can someone show me an example of a raven asset and how it was developed?
