Asset buyers/sellers?

Hi all, so let's say there's a really popular asset named "ItemX" in a Ravencoin Wallet. How would potential purchasers of "ItemX" contact the owner to see if they want to sell it to them? Is this something where the owner will need to attach in the IPFS, or is situation the purpose of NFT marketplaces? Thanks!
