Cryptocurrency News and Public Mining Pools

PSA: Just because you can take frequent mining payouts doesn’t mean you should.

So I learned this the hard way earlier this week. I've been mining RVN, getting ~150 a day. I had my payout threshold set to 50, and had like 60 transactions so far. I went to send some RVN to someone as a test to make sure I actually could send RVN (I highly recommend doing this, make sure you can actually send crypto so if you need to send it you know how it works). Since I'm using Electrum-rvn and a Ledger Nano S as my storage solution, sending a transaction with only 60 inputs took literally 30 minutes. My ledger was just sitting there, it looked like nothing was happening, and FINALLY it asked me to confirm the transaction, then like 15 minutes later the transaction is sent correctly.

I've reset my payment threshold to 1000 RVN now. Small payments are cool, but in the grand scheme of things if I'm holding for years, I don't really care if I get paid multiple times a day or weekly. Hell, I might go to 2000 RVN, bi-weekly works for my job, might be a good idea for RVN as well.
