what are assets for?
I have been mining RVN for a months. I have been using Exodus wallet to mine the coin to since Trezor doesnt allow me to mine to it. I have the Raven wallet on my computer as well but never really used it as it looked confusing at first. My first month I converted to Bitcoin, this last month I wanted to transfer 1100 RVN to the actual raven wallet. I did that okay no issues all is fine but I noticed that i could create assets within the wallet.
I Googled it and kinda understand what they are but dont really get what they are for, if that makes sense? I guess im not understanding why not just transfer/pay with Ravencoin instead of an asset?
For example this is from one of the sites https://www.stopsaving.com/ravencoin-explained/
People can create asset tokens for just about any type of real-world asset. The use cases are endless. Some examples include:
- Property deeds
- Gold and Silver coins
- Supermarket reward points
- In-game virtual goods
- Share and bond ownership certificates
Lets say I have a property deed and the property is worth $15k, for example. What would be the point in making a Raven asset for say 500 RVN? That amount of RVN is nowhere near the amount of RVN to pay for the deed if I were looking to selll it?
IDK, maybe assets are more for the people who are really into this. I am sure even a 5th grader understands this better than me but if anyone could explain it to me like a 4th grader I may be able to fully understand its purpose and meaning.
Thanks for any help.
