help with purchasing eth

I offered to help my mom research buying ETH. I mine on a small level but to be honest I have a lot to learn. I'm hoping to help her safely buy ETH and store it on a wallet. any suggestions on which wallet someone willing to buy about 1 ETH should go with? she snt very tech savvy I just want to make sure that she doesn't get ripped off somehow. I appreciate your replies and any info or places to look for said info
