ETH 2 am I doing it right?

I know we are in the midst of a total societal collapse or something on Earth, this lovely Sunday May 23rd, but I also bought a bunch of ETH this morning at $1950 from pro dot coinbase, moved them to regular coinbase, then I converted them to ETH 2 and started staking.

I did this knowing full well that those cannot be moved until ETH starts trading or what not. Yes full retard. Did it while fully awake. Question is, is the staking going to start right now or at some later date? Because it said that trading of ETH 2 was not available in my region. I'm in Arizona and it's kinda hot.
