The Ethereum gitters are all pretty empty?

There are many public Ethereum gitters, https://gitter.im/ethereum/home, but there aren't many real people at all. Some gitters, despite showing thousands of people in them, are dormant for years.

https://gitter.im/ethereum/solidity seemed to be one of the more active gitters, but it's still much less active than some other crypto gitters/slack I have been to. What are some alternatives? (apart from links listed on https://ethereum.org/en/community/, they all seem pretty inactive) I want to find a place to learn more details about POS, sharding, zkrollups etc.
