What is ETH doing right now?

I am still new to crypto as I had started buying some promising coins back last month. I am looking for somebody to explain why ETH’s price is going up and down so rapidly, and why sometimes there are major dips in price these past few weeks. Like today, ETH hit its peak in the lower $4000’s and then plummeted back to $3650. Is it something to do with the 2.0 conversion? Or with the choices of its creator? Please let me know.
