Secure way to manage funds with Trust Wallet

I am wondering how to properly secure the funds I have in my TrustWallet.

Currently, I have my seed saved in an encrypted database in my Linux workstation, which is also backed up. I uninstalled the TrustWallet app and from time to time I recover the wallet with my seed to check that everything is in order.

I am completely aware of the security issues my solution have, for example I could be the victim of a keylogger on my phone or computer. My phone is not rooted, but I'm a little worried to keep the app installed with the information.

Am I really securing my funds by keeping the app not installed ? I think the real alternative is to buy a cold wallet, but the money I manage is not that much. Do you have any advice ?
