Am I buying stock in the Ethereum network or Ether Currency?
I'm a little confused about distinguishing Ethereum and Ether, and the other digital currencies on the network. Maybe I just misunderstand what Ethereum is. From what I've been able to research; Bitcoin is simply a digital currency. Ethereum is a digital network that can host anything from apps to stores and the currency is Ether. But I can't buy Ether, I buy Ethereum. And anyone can develop a digital currency on the Ethereum network and you can buy that. If another currency on Ethereum's network gains value, does that make the Ethereum network more valuable? When you buy Ethereum are you actually buying Ether and the network is not something you can buy into?
