Implications of internet outage on ETH 2.0

Hi there, I was wondering what would happen if there is a regional/international/worldwide internet outage. Would all 2.0 validators be slashed (exponentially increasing with time?)?.

So lets assume there is an internet outage in North America, lets say only for one day. Would validators loose the majority of their holdings? (In contrast, in ETH 1.X PoW, only one daily income would be lost by miners?)
