Just starting and would like some advice

Hi, I am looking to invest in crypto currencies and have done some research into the different types. It look like other than Bitcoin, ethereum seems to be the next best one. I have created a wallet and was going to buy some eth, however I thought it might be best to ask you guys what you think I should do as a new comer. I’ve never invested in cryptocurrency (or anything really), and was hoping for some tips?? Thanks
